Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Signs MoU with Paints and Coatings Skill Council to Enhance Industry-Academia Collaboration

Chennai: Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, a deemed university, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Paints and Coatings Skill Council to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The MoU aims to introduce specialized courses, vocational training, and industry-aligned initiatives in the field of paints and coatings. The partnership will offer:

  • Civil Engineering and Chemistry programs with PCSC and NCVET certifications
  • Hands-on training for students from UBA-adopted villages and unemployed youth
  • Short-term certificate courses
  • New industry-ready programs like Interior Design Decoration and Powder Coating
  • Industrial visits
  • Faculty training
  • School contests to raise awareness

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including A.S. Ganesan, Chancellor of VMRF, and Shri Jagdish Acharya, CEO of PCSC. Ganesan emphasized the importance of industry partnerships in enhancing employability and providing students with practical experience.

Suresh Samuel, Member of the Board of Management, appreciated the efforts of the Paints and Coatings Skill Council in bridging the gap between academia and industry. He highlighted the growing need for specialized paints in medical applications and the importance of this collaboration.

The collaboration will also include the inclusion of Shri Jagdish Acharya as an advisor to the SAS Board of Studies, fostering a strong industry-academia connection.

VMRF reaffirms its commitment to providing industry-driven education that equips students with the skills and expertise necessary to thrive in the field of paints and coatings.
