WIN-ICON 2025 Showcases Science, Leadership, and Collaboration in Chennai

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu and Puducherry chapter of Women in Nephrology India (WIN-India) successfully hosted the 4th Annual Conference: WIN-ICON 2025 in Chennai. The conference theme, “Practicing advanced, evidence-based nephrology with impactful collaboration,” highlighted WIN’s mission to advance science, foster collaboration, and empower women specialists in nephrology.

Inauguration and Keynote Addresses

The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Former Chief Scientist, World Health Organization (WHO) & Chairperson, MSSRF, along with other dignitaries. Dr. Soumya Swaminathan emphasized that WIN-ICON 2025 is a platform for empowerment and change, amplifying the voices of women nephrologists and inspiring innovation in kidney care.

Participation and Impact

The two-day event saw participation from over 300 nephrologists, researchers, academicians, and healthcare professionals from across India and abroad. Dr. Manisha Sahay, President, WIN India, pointed out that WIN-India has united over 400 women nephrologists across the country, and WIN-ICON 2025 is a testament to the strength of solidarity, mentorship, and shared vision in nephrology.

Academic and Cultural Program

The conference featured academic sessions led by eminent national and international faculty, engaging panel discussions on clinical challenges, hands-on workshops, a quiz competition for postgraduate students, and a vibrant cultural showcase celebrating the artistic heritage of Tamil Nadu.
