Windergy India 2025 to Showcase Wind Energy Innovations in Chennai

Chennai: The 7th edition of Windergy India 2025, India’s premier international trade fair and conference dedicated to wind energy, will be held from October 29-31 at the Chennai Trade Centre. The event will be inaugurated by Prahlad Joshi, Cabinet Minister for New and Renewable Energy, and Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy.

Global Platform for Wind Energy

With over 350 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and an expected footfall of 15,000 visitors, Windergy India 2025 offers a vital platform for policy dialogue, innovation exchange, and industry collaboration. The event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and global stakeholders to accelerate India’s clean energy transition.

India’s Wind Energy Growth

India, currently ranked fourth globally in installed wind energy capacity, continues to make significant strides in renewable energy. The country’s wind power capacity stands at 53 GW as of August 2025, reflecting strong growth and a clear path toward the national target of 150 GW. The Government of India has introduced key reforms to accelerate sector growth, including a reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) on wind energy equipment from 12% to 5%.

Theme and Conference Highlights

Themed “Wind Power: Policies and Partnerships Towards Aatmanirbharta,” the conference will feature high-impact sessions on October 30-31. The event will include discussions on state leadership, wind manufacturing, global best practices, and opportunities and challenges in the wind energy sector. Key event partners include Suzlon Energy Limited, Envision Energy, and GE Vernova.

Partnerships and Support

Windergy India 2025 is jointly organized by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association and PDA Ventures Private Limited, with support from the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and other industry associations. The event will also feature pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain, showcasing global innovations in wind energy.
