Zigly’s Free Anti-Rabies Vaccine Drive
Mumbai: Zigly, India’s first tech-enabled omnichannel pet care brand, is organizing a free anti-rabies vaccination drive across its pet care centers pan-India on September 28 for all pets. This initiative aligns with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) World Rabies Day theme – ‘Act now: You, Me, Community’, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in preventing rabies.
The Need for Awareness
According to reports, India recorded over 37 lakh dog bite cases and around 54 suspected human rabies deaths in 2024, with the highest cases reported from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Children under 15 years accounted for nearly 20% of all bite victims. Zigly aims to educate communities on rabies control and prevention through its Ziglers and other channels, promoting responsible pet parenting.
Community Outreach Efforts
Zigly’s community outreach arm, Zigly Foundation, recently organized vaccination drives in West Patel Nagar and Aravalli Apartments, Kalkaji. In West Patel Nagar, 40 community dogs were vaccinated against preventable diseases, while 25 community dogs received vital vaccinations at Aravalli Apartments, accompanied by an awareness session on animal welfare for residents.
Zigly’s Mission
By providing free anti-rabies vaccinations and promoting awareness, Zigly reinforces its mission to eliminate rabies, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for pets, pet parents, and the community. As Pankaj Poddar, Group CEO of Cosmo First, emphasizes, “Our free anti-rabies drive is a testament of our steady action for encouraging responsible pet parenting… Pets and streeties deserve love and care.”
