“Short Films on Wheels” Initiative Aims to Raise Awareness on Alcohol and Substance Abuse

Chennai: G Square, India’s largest plotted real estate developer, has partnered with Grace Foundation to launch a mobile awareness campaign, “Short Films on Wheels,” aimed at combating alcohol and substance abuse across Chennai. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, G Square has deployed specially designed video vehicles to screen award-winning short films in communities, schools, and public spaces.

Spreading Awareness through Storytelling

The thought-provoking films, created by talented young filmmakers, are designed to spark conversations, encourage healthier choices, and inspire communities to work towards a society free from alcohol and substance abuse. According to Bala Ramajayam, Founder and Managing Director of G Square, “At G Square, we believe that our role goes beyond infrastructure, it extends to shaping stronger, healthier communities.”

Prevention and Rehabilitation

Dr. Aathira Naevis Prabhakar, Managing Trustee of Grace Foundation, emphasized the importance of prevention in addressing substance abuse. “Rehabilitation is essential, but prevention is equally critical. By bringing these powerful short films to the grassroots, we aim to create conversations that can shift mindsets and foster long-term impact,” she said.
