Care Health Insurance Trends Report 2025 Highlights Preventive Health, Digital Renewals, and Senior Care

Mumbai: Care Health Insurance has released its 2025 Annual Trends Report, revealing a decisive shift in consumer behaviour toward proactive health coverage, digital engagement, and senior care. The findings underscore how rising healthcare costs and lifestyle-related ailments are reshaping India’s insurance landscape.

Rising Awareness and Coverage

The report shows a 27% increase in insured members between Underwriting Year 2023–2024 and 2024–2025, reflecting growing awareness of comprehensive health cover. Families are securing higher protection, with the average Sum Insured for children (0–17 years) rising by over 7%. First-time buyers aged 18–35 continue to account for more than 30% of policyholders, while senior citizens (60+) now represent nearly 14% of insured members.

Illness Trends and Claims

Analysis of claims highlights a surge in illnesses such as Dengue, Malaria, and Common Flu, alongside lifestyle-related conditions including respiratory infections, cardiac ailments, cancer, and arthritis. High-value claims for cardiac and cancer treatments point to increasing medical complexity and the need for robust coverage.

Digital Adoption Accelerates

Consumers are increasingly embracing digital-first insurance experiences:

  • Website visits with high purchase intent have more than doubled in three years.
  • Use of the step-tracking feature on Care Health’s mobile app has grown 2.5 times, enabling discounts on renewal premiums.
  • Online renewals rose by nearly 10%, while app-based services surged, with 30% of claims filed and 15% of renewals completed via the Care Health Customer App.
