Auto Industry Sees Mixed Results in February 2025

New Delhi: The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released its latest data on the production, domestic sales, and exports of passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers for February 2025.

Key Highlights

Total Production: The total production of passenger vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and quadricycles in February 2025 stood at 23,46,258 units.

Domestic Sales:

– Passenger Vehicles: Sales were 3,77,689 units in February 2025, with a growth of 1.9% compared to February 2024.
– Three-Wheelers: Sales were 57,788 units in February 2025, with a growth of 4.7% compared to February 2024.
– Two-Wheelers: Sales were 13,84,605 units in February 2025, with a decline of 9% compared to February 2024.

Commentary: According to Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM, “The passenger vehicles segment remained resilient and posted its highest ever sales of February in 2025. Three-wheelers also continued to perform well. However, two-wheelers saw a decline. The upcoming festivities of Holi and Ugadi in March are likely to drive demand and close FY 2024-25 on a positive note.”
