BML Munjal University Hosts Thematic Panel Discussion on the Constitution of India, Celebrating Professor Upendra Baxi’s Life and Works

New Delhi: The Centre for Constitutional Values, School of Law, BML Munjal University organized a day-long discussion on the life and works of Professor Upendra Baxi, a renowned scholar and activist.

The event featured four thematic panels on the Constitution of India, inspired by Professor Baxi’s recently published volume “Of Law and Life”. Eminent academics, activists, and lawyers, including Prof. Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Prof. Rajeev Bhargava, and Mr. Harsh Mander, participated in the discussions.

Professor Baxi delivered the keynote address, reflecting on the concept of accountability in public life. The panels that followed explored wide-ranging issues, including freedom, sustainability, law reform, and justice.

The event concluded with a public lecture by Professor Susan Marks, titled “Dignity: A Worldly Perspective”, which urged the audience to think about dignity as a lived experience rather than an abstract concept.

The event was attended by over 150 lawyers, students, and academics, and was marked by intellectual rigor and a sense of celebration.
