Flipkart Minutes Sees Surge in Demand for Monsoon Essentials

Flipkart Minutes has recorded a sharp rise in demand for season-specific essentials as the monsoon rains swept across the country. The platform offered over 1,000 monsoon-related products, with 90% of them being sold in the last month.

The surge in demand was particularly notable for umbrellas and raincoats, which saw a 5X growth on the platform. Home cleaning sets like mops also saw a significant increase in demand, with a 2.5X growth. Additionally, mosquito repellents saw 2X growth, while slippers and clogs became go-to choices for wet-weather mobility. Anti-frizz serums surged 4X to tackle humidity, and antibacterial soaps doubled in demand as hygiene remained a priority for shoppers.

Popular search trends on the platform included ‘raincoat’, ‘umbrella for women’, and ‘mosquito racket’. The colour palette across rain gear was dominated by black, blue, and grey, reflecting both utility and style.

The demand for monsoon essentials was highest in Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai, with shoppers aged 25-35 being the most active consumers. Notably, one in every five orders placed on Flipkart Minutes in June included a monsoon-related product.

The demand trends reaffirm Flipkart Minutes’ role in solving everyday monsoon hassles, keeping shoppers dry, safe, and ready for every weather condition.
