Jaipur Centre for Art and RMZ Foundation Launch Month-Long Mentorship Programme for Young Artists
Mumbai: Jaipur Centre for Art (JCA), in collaboration with RMZ Foundation, has launched Studio Intensive, a month-long mentorship programme for young visual artists from Rajasthan.
The programme is being held from August 17 to September 17, 2026, at JCA’s premises in the City Palace, Jaipur. A total of 19 selected artists are participating, with each provided a dedicated studio space and access to sessions with gallerists, collectors, curators and writers from the Indian and international art communities.
Focus on Developing Artistic Practice
The programme has been designed around the need for sustained support after formal art education. Rajasthan has a long tradition of craft and image-making, while Jaipur is home to 10 visual art colleges that produce graduates each year.
Studio Intensive focuses on providing participants with studio space, critical feedback and exposure to the workings of galleries, collections and the wider art market.
Anu Menda, Chair, RMZ Foundation, said the programme aims to give young artists time and space to experiment, along with access to mentorship and dialogue that can help them develop individual artistic practices.
She said the collaboration with JCA was intended to create opportunities for emerging artists to strengthen their practices and build longer-term careers within Rajasthan’s evolving cultural landscape.
HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, Co-Founder, Jaipur Centre for Art, said the collaboration with RMZ Foundation had developed through previous initiatives, including Salt Lines and support for an installation at The Sculpture Park.
He said the partnership had enabled JCA to develop programmes that require sustained investment and time to produce results.
Seven Mentors to Guide Participants
The mentor programme covers areas including institution building, gallery practice, criticism, collecting and studio practice.
The mentor lineup includes Noelle Kadar, Rajiv Menon, Shilo Shiv Suleman, Wolf, Meera Menezes, Siddharth Somaiya, and Kamna Anand and Isha Anand from the RMZ Foundation team.
Noelle Kadar, Co-founder, Jaipur Centre for Art, said the programme was designed to give participants a deeper understanding of the art world through a combination of studio time, talks, critiques and one-on-one interactions.
Participants to Engage with Jaipur’s Art Community
Alongside the mentorship sessions, participants will take part in a curatorial walkthrough of the City Palace Museum with the JCA team and visit the Sculpture Park.
They will also participate in a creative mixer with Jaipur’s working artist community, providing an opportunity to connect with the local network.
At the conclusion of the programme, three participants will be jointly selected by JCA and RMZ Foundation, with their works entering the RMZ Foundation’s collection in Bengaluru.
The Foundation’s collection includes sculptural works by Indian and international artists and is located within built environments across more than six cities.
Public Display Scheduled for September 17
Studio Intensive will conclude with an open studio viewing and public display of the participants’ work at JCA on September 17, 2026.
The closing event will be open to the public and will provide an opportunity to view the work developed by the 19 participating artists during the month-long programme.
