Primus Partners and Maharashtra Government Unveil Report on Zero-Waste Fashion
Mumbai: Primus Partners, in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, has released a report outlining a roadmap for India to become a zero-waste fashion country by 2047.
The report, titled “Making India a Zero-Waste Fashion Country,” highlights a $3.5 billion economic opportunity and the potential creation of 1 lakh jobs over the next five years.
The report provides a strategic framework for integrating sustainability and circular economy principles across the textile value chain, from farm to foreign. It emphasizes the need for policy support, industry collaboration, and consumer engagement to address textile waste.
Key recommendations include financial incentives, textile waste collection centers, a national policy for sustainable textiles, and an Extended Producer Responsibility scheme.
