National Stock Exchange Partners with Goa Government to Launch Student Skilling Program

Goa: In a significant move to empower the youth of Goa, the National Stock Exchange of India has joined hands with the Government of Goa to launch the ‘Student Skilling Program’ in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance sectors.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two entities, marking a significant step towards bridging the skill gap and enhancing employment opportunities for the youth of the state. Goa is the fifth state to partner with NSE on skilling youth, after Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, and Assam.

The program aims to equip students with industry-relevant skills, enabling them to pursue rewarding careers in the BFSI sector. The program will be conducted in two levels: Level 1, a 20-hour training program, will certify students in the ‘Foundation Course in BFSI’, equipping them with essential financial management skills. Level 2, a 30-hour advanced training program, will prepare students for the NISM regulatory examination, providing them with nationwide industry-recognized certification.

Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, NSE, stated that this partnership reflects their commitment to bridging the skill gap in the BFSI sector. Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa, emphasized that this collaboration will create pathways to rewarding careers for Goan youth and address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the capital markets space.
