Radisson Blu GRT Chennai Rings in Christmas with Wine, Cake, and Community Spirit

Chennai: Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai set the tone for the festive season with a vibrant celebration that blended tradition, sophistication, and community spirit. The hotel hosted its annual Christmas Cake Mixing Ceremony alongside a Grand Wine Tasting session and the lighting of a Sustainable Christmas Tree, reinforcing its commitment to eco-conscious hospitality.

The event welcomed guests from corporate and social circles, as well as children from the Good Life Centre outreach program, creating a heartwarming atmosphere of togetherness and giving.

Highlights of the Evening

Held across the hotel’s elegant Lobby, the Royal Mile, and the architecturally stunning Dome, the evening featured:

• Grand Wine Tasting: Guests were welcomed with festive melodies and treated to a curated wine experience led by sommelier Praveen Krishnamurthy.
• Cake Mixing Ceremony: Donning white caps and aprons, guests joined in mixing over 120 kgs of dry fruits with spirits, marking the start of the Christmas baking season.
• Magical Parade: Children were led in a joyful parade by Wonderland characters including reindeers and snowmen, culminating in the tree lighting.
• Sustainable Tree Lighting: Guests planted saplings on a custom-designed metal frame shaped like a Christmas tree, symbolizing a greener celebration. Each sapling will be nurtured throughout the season.
• Carol Singing: A choir of 30 singers performed traditional carols, adding to the festive cheer.
• Art Showcase: The event also featured a special exhibition of Anglo-Indian–themed cartoons by renowned artist Harry MacLure, celebrating cultural heritage and humour.
