Tanishq Honours India’s Women’s World Cup Victory with Rings Crafted from Exchanged Gold
Chennai: Tanishq, India’s largest jewellery retail brand from the Tata Group, has paid tribute to the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup triumph with a unique gesture. Each player has been gifted a specially crafted gold ring made from gold exchanged by families across the country, symbolizing the nation’s pride and collective celebration.
The Indian women’s team’s victory has been hailed as a defining moment in sports, reflecting resilience, teamwork, and the limitless potential of women in India. Their achievement has inspired young girls nationwide and become a powerful symbol of national pride.
For decades, Tanishq has celebrated milestones in women’s journeys across India. This tribute, the brand said, connects households with the champions who carried the hopes of 1.4 billion people.
Ajoy Chawla, CEO, Jewellery Division, Titan Company Limited, remarked: “The Indian women’s cricket team has given the country a moment that will be remembered for generations. These rings are our way of honouring their spirit, commitment, and achievement — crafted from recycled gold exchanged by lakhs of customers. Each ring carries a piece of the country, just as the team carries the pride of the nation.”
Tanishq’s Gold Exchange program, which allows customers to trade old gold from any jeweller with 0% deduction across all karats, has grown into a nationwide movement. More than 1.8 lakh kilos of gold have been exchanged to date, with 32 lakh Indians participating. The initiative reflects the brand’s belief that India’s most cherished gold deserves to shine again, while empowering families with transparency and trust.
By linking this movement to the World Cup victory, Tanishq has created a symbolic connection between everyday households and the nation’s sporting heroes — a celebration of India’s gold and India’s glory.
