Tata Starbucks Launches Indian Single-Origin Coffees from Coorg Estates
Chennai: Tata Starbucks is deepening its connection to India’s coffee heritage with the launch of its first-ever estate-exclusive single-origin whole bean coffees. Sourced from the Nullore, Margolly, and Karadibetta Estates in Coorg, Karnataka, this new range celebrates the land, legacy, and craftsmanship behind every bean.
Building on the success of the India Estates Blend, the new single-origin offerings bring the spotlight even closer to the soil and stories of Coorg’s coffee-growing heartlands. Each estate represents generations of farming excellence, biodiversity, and ethical sourcing, now captured in every cup.
The three estates offer distinct flavor profiles:
- Nullore Estate: Grown at 910 meters in Madikeri’s misty hills, this Arabica features tasting notes of red apple, sesame flower, and sweet lemon acidity. The estate practices circular farming under a two-tier canopy of native trees.
- Margolly Estate: Dating back to the 1850s and located at 980 meters, this washed Arabica delivers Barhi date and cinnamon bark notes with a forest honey finish. Its dense canopy and rainwater harvesting reflect evergreen forest conditions.
- Karadibetta Estate: At 1000 meters, this high-altitude Arabica offers jamun plum, ginger, and tulsi herbal notes. Its layered, aromatic profile mirrors the biodiversity of Coorg’s highlands.
Each package features illustrations inspired by the estates’ wildlife and terrain—from the Grey Hornbill of Nullore to elephants roaming Margolly’s pepper trails—highlighting the ethical sourcing and ecological richness of the region.
Mitali Maheshwari, Head of Product & Marketing at Tata Starbucks, said, “India’s coffee origins carry the rich legacy of their people, with stories spanning centuries. We’re proud to share the distinct flavors and craftsmanship of Coorg through these iconic estates that have been harvested for the first time for Tata Starbucks.”
The Starbucks Indian Single-Origin Whole Bean Coffees—Nullore, Margolly, and Karadibetta—will be available at select Starbucks stores across India, starting at ₹495 for a 150g package.
