Vi Launches 5G Services in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Vi (Vodafone Idea) has announced the launch of its 5G services in Bengaluru, starting tomorrow. This rollout follows recent 5G launches in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Patna, and Chandigarh, and is part of the company’s strategic expansion in all 17 priority circles.
Enhanced Connectivity and Speed
Residents and businesses in Bengaluru can now enjoy faster data speeds, lower latency, and enhanced connectivity on the Vi 5G network. Vi users with 5G-enabled devices can access unlimited 5G data on plans starting from ₹299, enabling seamless streaming, gaming, and video conferencing.
Partnership and Infrastructure
Vi has partnered with Samsung to deploy advanced, energy-efficient infrastructure and implemented AI-powered Self-Organizing Networks (SON) to optimize network performance. The company has also upgraded its 4G network in Karnataka, delivering enhanced coverage and faster data speeds.

Network Upgrades
Vi has significantly upgraded its 4G network in Karnataka, including:
- Deploying 900 MHz spectrum on nearly 3,000 sites to strengthen indoor coverage
- Doubling 2100 MHz spectrum capacity across 1,800 sites
- Adding 2100 MHz spectrum to another 1,000 locations
- Bolstering 1800 MHz capacity across more than 4,100 sites
These upgrades have led to a 46% capacity increase since March 2024, underscoring Vi’s commitment to delivering consistent and high-quality connectivity.
