Volvo CE India Unveils EC215 ‘Made in Bharat’ Excavator at EXCON 2025

Chennai: Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) India reinforced its leadership in infrastructure innovation with a strong presence at EXCON 2025, South Asia’s largest construction equipment exhibition. Guided by the theme “Bharosa Har Mod Par – Trust At Every Turn,” the company showcased future-ready, India-centric engineering and sustainability-driven solutions designed to power the country’s next wave of construction, mining, and material-handling growth.

EC215: Made in Bharat for India’s Infrastructure

The highlight of the showcase was the debut of the all-new EC215 excavator, a Made-in-Bharat model tailored for India’s diverse and demanding work environments. Building on the success of the EC210 launched last year, the EC215 extends Volvo’s “Zyada Ka Vaada” philosophy across the 20–22T class, offering enhanced performance, fuel efficiency, value, and uptime.

Expanding the Portfolio

Volvo CE also unveiled:

  • SD110 Compactor – delivering long-term reliability and high ROI for road building and compaction.
  • L120 Electric Wheel Loader – India’s most advanced electric wheel loader now commercially available, underscoring Volvo’s shift toward zero-emission, cost-efficient solutions.
  • EC650 Heavy Excavator (pre-launch) – making its first appearance in India, set to redefine standards in large-scale construction and mining operations.

Holistic Service Ecosystem

Beyond equipment, Volvo CE demonstrated its integrated service offerings, including Equipment-as-a-Service, digital machine monitoring, operator skill development tools, productivity management solutions, and live support services. These solutions aim to maximize fleet utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure sustained machine performance.

Commitment to India

Volvo CE announced progress on its upcoming Technology Centre in Bengaluru, which will focus on R&D, localization, and product development for both Indian and global markets. This strategic investment positions India as a key contributor to Volvo CE’s global innovation network.

Leadership Perspective

Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo CE India, said: “EXCON 2025 reflects our continued focus on delivering solutions that address the real needs of the Indian market. The EC215 is built on insights gathered from customers across India, delivering stronger productivity and improved fuel efficiency where it matters most. With compactors and electric wheel loaders on display, we are enabling customers to transition responsibly toward technologies that reduce emissions and operating costs. Our commitment is to stay closely aligned with India’s infrastructure priorities and support that journey through reliable, future-ready technology.”
