Akshaya Thanga Maligai Opens First Showroom in T. Nagar, Plans Five Stores in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Jewellery brand Akshaya Thanga Maligai (ATM) has opened its first showroom on North Usman Road near Panagal Park in T. Nagar, Chennai.

The new showroom marks the brand’s entry into Tamil Nadu’s jewellery retail market. ATM has been developed with a focus on jewellery and designs reflecting the traditions, occasions and preferences of customers in the state.

The brand’s product range includes gold jewellery, diamonds, precious stones and silver articles for both everyday and ceremonial use. According to the company, the jewellery will be offered with certified purity and pricing focused on value, with value addition capped between 1% and 10%.

Plans to Expand Across Tamil Nadu

Akshaya Thanga Maligai plans to expand its presence to five stores across Tamil Nadu by the end of 2026.

The brand has been launched by Kalyan Jewellers India Limited, with the new retail format positioned around serving the Tamil Nadu market.

Sivakarthikeyan Named Brand Ambassador

Tamil film actor Sivakarthikeyan has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Akshaya Thanga Maligai.

Speaking at the showroom launch, Sivakarthikeyan said the brand’s focus on Tamil traditions and everyday life was among the reasons he was associated with the initiative. He also highlighted the brand’s emphasis on quality and value for customers.

TS Kalyanaraman, Managing Director, Kalyan Jewellers India Limited, said ATM was created with a focus on offering a locally oriented jewellery experience while maintaining the quality and transparency associated with the company’s retail operations.

The first ATM showroom is located in North Usman Road, near Panagal Park, T. Nagar, Chennai, one of the city’s major jewellery retail areas.
