Axis Pension Fund Crosses ₹20,000 Crore AUM, Doubles Assets in 15 Months

Chennai: Axis Pension Fund, the pension fund management arm of Axis Asset Management Company Limited (Axis AMC) and a step-down subsidiary of Axis Bank Limited, has crossed ₹20,000 crore in Assets Under Management (AUM).

The pension fund added its latest ₹10,000 crore in AUM between June 2025 and August 2026, effectively doubling its assets in 15 months. The company attributed the growth to increased subscriber and partner engagement, an expanding distribution network and wider adoption of the National Pension System (NPS) as a long-term retirement planning option.

Expansion Across Customer Segments

Axis Pension Fund has been expanding its NPS presence through Axis Bank’s distribution network, with a focus on retail, affluent, corporate, government and institutional segments.

The company said its diversified approach across customer segments and product categories has supported its presence in the pension ecosystem.

Commenting on the milestone, Sumit Shukla, Managing Director & CEO, Axis Pension Fund, said the ₹20,000 crore AUM mark reflects continued trust from subscribers and partners and the growing acceptance of NPS as a retirement solution.

He added that the company would focus on making pension solutions simpler and more accessible while maintaining compliance, investment discipline and customer security.

Technology-Led NPS Initiatives

Axis Pension Fund is also using technology-based initiatives to simplify NPS onboarding and expand access to pension products.

One such initiative is the Tatkal onboarding journey, which enables customers to open an NPS account in approximately 15–20 seconds, according to the company.

The pension fund is also leveraging initiatives including Multiple Scheme Framework (MSF), NPS Swasthya and NPS Vatsalya to expand pension coverage across different customer segments.

Focus on Long-Term Retirement Planning

The company said India’s pension industry is seeing increased activity, supported by greater awareness of retirement planning, deeper customer penetration and improved accessibility of pension products.

Looking ahead, Axis Pension Fund said it plans to combine technology-led customer experiences with governance and investment discipline, while focusing on protecting customers’ retirement savings and building long-term trust.
