Schneider Electric Launches Installed Base Tracking Initiative to Improve Asset Uptime in India
Mumbai: Schneider Electric has launched its Installed Base Tracking campaign in India, aimed at helping businesses create digital identities for critical electrical assets and improve visibility across their asset lifecycles.
The initiative comes as India’s industrial, commercial and data centre sectors expand, increasing the need for reliable power infrastructure and reduced downtime. Schneider Electric said critical electrical assets often operate without a digital footprint, despite organisations maintaining detailed records of other corporate assets.
Through Installed Base Tracking, each critical electrical asset can be assigned a distinct digital identity containing information such as equipment details, lifecycle status and service history. The company said this visibility can help businesses move from reactive maintenance towards more predictive lifecycle planning and condition-based maintenance.
Focus on Asset Lifecycle Visibility
According to Schneider Electric Vice President, Services, Damini Chaudhari, having clear information about installed assets, their service history and lifecycle stage can help businesses make more informed decisions on maintenance, modernisation and future investments.
The company said greater installed-base visibility can also support more personalised service recommendations based on individual equipment and operational requirements.
As asset information is progressively digitised and connected with relevant service capabilities, businesses can gain deeper insights into equipment performance and identify potential issues earlier. This can support decisions related to maintenance, replacement and end-of-life planning.
Moving Towards Predictive Asset Management
Schneider Electric said Installed Base Tracking represents an initial step towards more advanced digital and condition-based asset management. The initiative is intended to help businesses build a clearer view of their critical electrical infrastructure while supporting operational continuity and extending asset life.
The company is inviting businesses to register their installed base as part of the initiative. Schneider Electric said combining installed-base information with its service expertise and digital capabilities can support a more data-driven approach to managing existing electrical assets.
