Nara Lokesh Launches Suzlon’s ₹10,500 Crore Wind Energy Projects in Anantapur
Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated Suzlon’s 1,325 MW wind energy projects in Anantapur district, involving an investment of ₹10,500 crore. The projects are expected to generate around 1,600 direct and indirect jobs.
Lokesh also inaugurated the expanded Suzlon smart blade manufacturing facility in Ananthapuramu, which has added two production lines.
Speaking at the event, Nara Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh is working to develop a clean-energy ecosystem to support the State’s industrial and economic growth.
He said Suzlon’s investment reflects the confidence of renewable energy companies in the State’s policies and investment environment. According to Lokesh, long-term partnerships in the renewable energy sector will help accelerate clean-energy development, create employment and attract further investments.
Suzlon’s Two-Decade Partnership with Andhra Pradesh
The latest investment builds on Suzlon’s more than two-decade association with Andhra Pradesh. The company has so far catalysed approximately ₹15,500 crore of investment in the State and is executing around 1,600 MW of wind projects.
Suzlon’s Ananthapur manufacturing facility has an annual capacity of 1,260 MW and currently supports more than 1,200 direct and indirect green jobs.
The company has also been involved in green-skilling initiatives in the State. Around 12,000 young people, including 3,000 women, have been trained through skill development labs in Uravakonda and Vijayawada.
Renewable Energy Demand Expected to Rise
The new wind projects come as Andhra Pradesh experiences growth in industrial and technology sectors. The State is also emerging as a hub for industry, technology and artificial intelligence, increasing the demand for reliable and clean energy.
Suzlon Vice Chairman and Co-Founder Girish Tanti said the company remains a long-term partner in Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy development and described the latest projects as a new phase in its relationship with the State.
Suzlon CEO Ajay Kapur said the State’s expanding industrial and technology ecosystem, including data centres and new industries, is creating additional energy requirements and increasing the importance of integrated renewable energy solutions.
The expansion of Suzlon’s projects and manufacturing capacity adds to Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy investments, advanced manufacturing activity and employment generation.
