Maa Kauvery, 120-Bed Women and Children’s Hospital, Inaugurated in Chennai
Chennai: Kauvery Hospital – Radial Road has launched Maa Kauvery, a 120-bed hospital dedicated to women and children. The facility offers services covering maternity care, obstetrics and gynaecology, fertility, neonatology, paediatrics and paediatric critical care.
Tamil Nadu Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Minister Dr. K.G. Arunraj inaugurated the hospital in the presence of Dr. S. Chandrakumar, Founder and Executive Chairman; Dr. Manivannan Selvaraj, Founder and Managing Director; Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director; and Dr. D. Senguttuvan, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals.
Maternity and Women’s Healthcare
Maa Kauvery will provide 24/7 maternity services, including care for normal and high-risk pregnancies. Dedicated clinical teams will support women through pregnancy, labour and childbirth, with antenatal, delivery and postnatal care.
The hospital also has birthing facilities, along with laparoscopic gynaecologic surgery and fetal medicine services. Fertility care will include assisted reproductive services such as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
Its women’s healthcare services will cover different stages of life, including adolescent health, reproductive health and fertility care. The facility will also provide care for menstrual health, PMOS, menopause and other gynaecological conditions.
Additional services include counselling and preventive care, gynaecologic oncology and breast health services, including mammography.
Neonatal and Paediatric Care
The hospital has a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for critically ill newborns, including premature babies born before 30 weeks of gestation or weighing less than 1.5 kg.
The NICU will have round-the-clock access to neonatal specialists, respiratory support and advanced life-support technologies.
Paediatric services include paediatric pulmonology, paediatric nephrology, paediatric intensive care, paediatric haematology, neonatology and supporting care.
Maa Kauvery will also have a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and 24/7 paediatric emergency services, with specialised teams available for the assessment and management of critically ill and high-risk children.
Second Maa Kauvery Facility
According to Kauvery Group of Hospitals, the organisation has been operating a 200-bed Maa Kauvery facility in Trichy since 2024. The Chennai facility at Radial Road is based on the integrated women and children’s healthcare model developed there.
Dr. D. Senguttuvan said the Chennai facility brings together specialised services for women and children, including obstetric, paediatric, neonatal and fertility care, with clinical teams available around the clock.
