Uma Anilkumar Assumes Office as Lions Clubs International District 3241-F Governor in Chennai
Chennai: Business leader and philanthropist Uma Anilkumar, CEO, Vice Chairperson and Whole-Time Director of the ICL Group, has assumed office as the District Governor of Lions Clubs International District 3241-F, Chennai, taking charge of one of the leadership positions within the Lions movement.
As District Governor, she will lead hundreds of Lions Clubs and thousands of members across the district, overseeing humanitarian initiatives and community service programmes during the Lions year.
Uma Anilkumar has been associated with both business leadership and social service. At ICL Group, she has contributed to the company’s growth across sectors including financial services, travel and tourism, fashion, medical services, investments and real estate. The group has also expanded its presence across India and the Middle East.
Apart from her corporate role, she has been involved in community service through initiatives such as medical camps, educational assistance, financial support for economically disadvantaged families and other charitable programmes. She has also supported Tuline Fashion, an initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, employment and financial independence for women.
Over the years, she has received recognition from various organisations for her contributions to business leadership and social service.
Focus Areas for the Year
As District Governor, Uma Anilkumar has outlined several focus areas for the coming year, including:
- Educational support programmes for deserving students
- Free medical camps and preventive healthcare initiatives
- Eye care projects, vision screening and eye donation awareness campaigns
- Women empowerment programmes promoting entrepreneurship and financial independence
- Leadership development initiatives for youth
- Environmental sustainability projects, including tree plantation, water conservation and community cleanliness drives
- Welfare programmes for financially challenged families
- Initiatives for senior citizens and persons with disabilities
- Blood donation and organ donation awareness campaigns
- Long-term community development projects in collaboration with Lions Clubs across the district
- Cancer awareness programmes
Speaking on assuming office, Uma Anilkumar said the organisation would continue expanding its humanitarian efforts through collective service and community participation.
District Cabinet Installed
The District Cabinet Installation Ceremony of Lions Clubs International District 3241-F was held on 2 August 2026 at Hotel Green Park, Vadapalani, Chennai.
The newly installed district office bearers are:
- Lion M. Udaya Kumar – District Cabinet Secretary
- Lion T. Sivakumar – District Cabinet Treasurer
- MJF Lion Y. Rajeswara Rao – Council Coordinator
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including:
- PMJF Lion K.G. Anilkumar, PDG, District Chartered Governor and Honorary Committee Chairman
- Justice N. Seshasayee, Chairman, NCLAT Chennai
- R. Srikanth, Additional Superintendent of Police, Crime Against Women & Children Wing, Headquarters, Chennai
- PMJF Lion Dr. G. Manilal, PDG, District Cabinet Advisor
- PMJF Lion N.S. Sankar, Past International Director and LCIF Area Leader, MD 3241, who served as the Cabinet Installation Officer
According to the organisation, the District Governor, cabinet members and committee members will coordinate humanitarian projects, leadership initiatives and community development programmes across District 3241-F during the Lions year under the Lions International motto, “We Serve.”
