Gujarat Summit 2027 Roadshow in Chennai Focuses on Industrial Partnerships
Chennai: The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027 roadshow held in Chennai highlighted opportunities for industrial collaboration between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, particularly in semiconductors, automotive, electronics and advanced manufacturing.
Held at Taj Coromandel, the event brought together industry leaders and government representatives to discuss investment opportunities, technology partnerships and manufacturing cooperation.
Ahead of the roadshow, Gujarat Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Dr. Manisha Vakil and senior government officials met representatives of 21 businesses and institutions in Chennai, including Ashok Leyland, Saint-Gobain, KLA, Salcomp Manufacturing India, IIT Madras Pravartak, Agnikool Cosmos, Danfoss and Kone Elevator India.
The event featured a presentation on VGGS 2027 by M. Thennarasan, Principal Secretary for Urban Development and Urban Housing, along with a screening on Gujarat’s semiconductor ecosystem. Industry representatives also shared their perspectives on business opportunities in the state.
Dr. Vakil highlighted the complementary industrial strengths of the two states, noting Tamil Nadu’s established automotive, electronics, engineering and technology sectors and Gujarat’s capabilities in industrial infrastructure, ports, semiconductors, renewable energy and global connectivity.
Discussions also explored ways to connect Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing base with Gujarat’s developing semiconductor, advanced manufacturing and logistics infrastructure. Gujarat accounts for 17% of India’s manufacturing output and 25% of its merchandise exports.
The 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled to be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, 2027, under the theme “Viksit Gujarat – Shaping Global Future.” The summit is expected to bring together businesses, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss investment and industrial development.
