Kobelco Launches Three New Excavator Models for India
Chennai: Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI) has launched three excavator variants in the 19.1–24-tonne category: SK210, SK215LC and SK230XDLC, targeting the requirements of India’s infrastructure sector.
The excavators are manufactured at the company’s facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which has an annual production capacity of around 3,500 units. The plant has produced more than 20,000 machines for domestic and international markets across over 16 countries.
The new models are powered by a 150 HP F4.5 Cummins CRDI engine and feature enhanced digging forces, GEOSCAN remote tracking, standard air-conditioning, LED work lights and a power boost function. Extended hydraulic oil and filter maintenance intervals are intended to help reduce downtime and operating costs.
Jun Hayama, Managing Director of KCEI, said the launch marked the company’s continued focus on India’s infrastructure development as it celebrates two decades of its presence in the country, including manufacturing and engineering operations.
Moses Eddy, Director of KCEI, said the company aims to combine technology and localisation to improve excavation efficiency and equipment economics for customers.
The launch is part of Kobelco’s Value Excavation approach, which combines Japanese technology with local manufacturing to meet Indian operating requirements.
