IASGCON 2025 Opens in Chennai: Spotlight on GI Oncology, AI & Surgical Innovation

Chennai: The 35th National Conference of the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology (IASGCON 2025) was inaugurated today at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. Themed “GI Oncology Innovations, AI & Beyond,” the three-day event brings together over 1250 delegates and 40+ international experts to explore cutting-edge advances in surgical gastroenterology.

Chief Guest Dr. P. Senthil Kumar, I.A.S., praised the forum’s role in driving innovation in patient care. Guest of Honour Dr. K. Narayanasamy emphasized Tamil Nadu’s leadership in surgical education. Other dignitaries included Dr. R. Suganthy Rajakumari, Prof. Dr. D. Maruthupandian, and Dr. A. Aravind.

Pre-conference workshops at leading Chennai hospitals offered hands-on training in advanced techniques. Scientific sessions will cover esophageal and pancreatic cancers, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic labs, MDT discussions, and AI-driven diagnostics.

Organizing Chairman Dr. C. Palanivelu highlighted the role of technology and collaboration in transforming GI surgery. Secretary Dr. S. Jeswanth noted the conference’s focus on live demos, debates, and evidence-based practices.

IASGCON 2025 continues through October 12 with tracks on robotic surgery, precision oncology, and the future of minimally invasive care.
