Swiggy, Chennai Traffic Police Conduct Road Safety Training for Delivery Partners
Chennai: Swiggy partnered with the Chennai City Police (Tambaram Commissionerate) to conduct a Road Safety and Traffic Awareness session for over 100 delivery executives under its ‘Delivering Safely’ charter.
Held during National Road Safety Month, the session was led by Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sundarajan and senior traffic officials. It focused on helmet compliance, bike maintenance, traffic violations and penalties, wrong-side riding, illegal parking, valid vehicle insurance, and the dangers of drink driving and road rage. Real-life accident case studies were shared to highlight the consequences of unsafe driving.
Swiggy has been conducting similar road safety initiatives across India in collaboration with local traffic police departments. In 2025 and early 2026, sessions were held in multiple cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi, reaching thousands of delivery partners.
The company stated that all delivery partners are covered under road insurance, undergo mandatory safety training during onboarding and participate in regular awareness programs to promote safer roads.
