Tanishq Launches ‘Narumugai’ Uncut Diamond Collection Inspired by Mallipoo
Chennai: Tanishq, the jewellery retail brand from Titan Company Limited, has introduced Narumugai, its first Uncut Diamond Open Polki collection designed exclusively for the South Indian market. The collection was launched during the Aadi festival season and draws inspiration from the cultural significance of Mallipoo (jasmine) in South India.
According to the company, the collection reinterprets traditional South Indian jewellery styles through contemporary craftsmanship while celebrating the spirit of the Pudhumai Penn, representing the modern Tamil woman who values her cultural roots while embracing individuality.
Inspired by South Indian Heritage
Tanishq said the collection reflects the importance of Mallipoo, a symbol of grace and tradition that has long been associated with celebrations and everyday life across Tamil Nadu.
Designed in 18K gold with Uncut Diamonds, the jewellery collection blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary styling while retaining the cultural identity of South Indian jewellery.
Traditional Designs Reimagined
The Narumugai collection takes inspiration from various forms of jasmine flowers, including buds, blooms and floral garlands. These elements have been incorporated into jewellery through intricate craftsmanship.
Traditional South Indian jewellery styles such as the Attigai, Mango Maala, Haaram and other classic designs have been reinterpreted using Open Polki craftsmanship and uncut diamonds.
Unlike faceted diamonds, uncut diamonds retain their natural form and texture, giving each jewellery piece a distinct appearance. The collection also features combinations of precious gemstones and pearls.
Jewellery Range Starts at ₹40,000
The collection is priced from ₹40,000 onwards and includes a wide range of jewellery such as:
- Necklaces
- Chokers
- Haars
- Earrings
- Bangles
- Bracelets
- Rings
- Pendants
- Bridal jewellery
The collection is intended for festive occasions as well as everyday wear.
