SRMIST to Host 20th Edition of Aaruush Techno-Management Fest from September 24
Chennai: SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, will host the 20th edition of Aaruush, its national-level techno-management fest, from September 24 to 27.
The four-day event will bring together students, academicians, industry professionals and technology enthusiasts through competitions, workshops, exhibitions, summits and cultural programmes.
Aaruush Completes Two Decades
Aaruush was inaugurated in 2007 by the late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Over the years, the fest has featured personalities including Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal, General Dr. V. K. Singh, Dr. V. Natarajan, Shri P. K. Malhotra, Mr. Suresh Raina and Dr. Sridhar Vembu.
Previous cultural programmes at the fest have also featured names such as Zakir Khan and When Chai Met Toast.
Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, said the 20th edition would bring together participants from academia, industry and the student community around ideas, innovation and student-led exploration.
Industry and Technology Leaders to Attend
Dominic David, President, KLA India, will attend the event as Chief Guest. He leads operations at KLA India, which has a Centre of Excellence focused on software, algorithms and AI.
Guncha Malik, Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM), IBM, will be the Guest of Honour. She is a CISSP and CCSP-certified security professional working in cloud security, ethical AI and quantum computing, and is also an IBM Quantum Ambassador.
T-Summit and Hack Summit
Ahead of Aaruush ’26, the institution conducted T-Summit 10.0, which brought together representatives from 30 institutions, including Shizuoka University and Hochschule Furtwangen University.
Discussions at the summit covered innovation, student development, governance and responsible digital transformation, along with ways to translate the discussions into institutional mechanisms and practices.
Another initiative, Hack Summit 7.0, brought together more than 1,000 participants for a 36-hour hackathon focused on technology-based solutions to real-world challenges.
Projects developed during the hackathon covered areas including AI-powered data analytics, distributed computing, healthcare and predictive aquaculture. Several projects demonstrated potential for further development, scalability and industry applications.
More Than 100 Technical Events
Aaruush ’26 will feature more than 100 technical events, including E-Summit, Nx-Gen Forum, Lanstorm, Turbo Drift, Quadcopter, Roboleague, Main Quiz and Cognixion.
The events cover areas including computing, entrepreneurship, engineering and strategic problem-solving, alongside opportunities for students to participate in competitions, workshops and other technical activities.
The 20th edition will also include cultural and academic programmes as SRMIST marks two decades of Aaruush.
