Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya to Celebrate Golden Jubilee in Chennai
Chennai: Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School will celebrate its 50th anniversary on October 11 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event as chief guest, along with Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and School Education Minister Rajmohan Arumugam.
The celebration, scheduled for 2.30 pm, is expected to bring together around 4,000 participants, including students, parents, teachers and alumni from the 15 group schools under Vishva Hindu Vidya Kendra.
The school, which functions under the registered organisation Vishva Hindu Vidya Kendra, is marking five decades of education, with an emphasis on academics, discipline, cultural values and character development. Its motto, Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye, means “That is true knowledge which leads to liberation.”
According to the school management, the invitation to the Prime Minister follows the institution’s response to his Mann Ki Baat programme. Inspired by its message, around 10,000 students, 600 teachers and 250 non-teaching staff members contributed Re. 1 a day for 365 days. The collected amount was handed over to Army personnel at an event in Nagercoil attended by the Prime Minister.
The school also noted that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee attended its Silver Jubilee celebrations as chief guest.
The Golden Jubilee will recognise the contributions of teachers, staff, parents, alumni and others who have supported the institution over the past five decades. The management said the anniversary would also reaffirm its commitment to education, nation-building and the vision of a developed India.
