AbhiBus Partners with Telangana Police to Enhance Bus Travel Security
Mumbai: In a significant move to strengthen bus travel security, AbhiBus, India’s leading bus ticketing platform, has joined forces with the Telangana Police. This strategic partnership aims to leverage technology to create a more secure and reliable travel ecosystem, particularly for women travelers.
Through this collaboration, AbhiBus has integrated the Telangana Police’s T-Safe emergency response system into its platform. This enables passengers to alert the police instantly in case of distress, triggering an SOS alert directly via the AbhiBus app. The T-Safe team will receive immediate notification, ensuring swift police intervention.
To further enhance safety, AbhiBus will share an SOS link via WhatsApp with passengers during their journey. This feature will be active from four hours before the bus journey, throughout the trip, and up to four hours after deboarding, providing continuous safety support for passengers traveling within Telangana.
The integration also allows the Telangana Police to monitor passenger locations in real-time, enabling a swift law enforcement response to route deviations, unexpected stoppages, or distress alerts.
Rohit Sharma, COO of AbhiBus, emphasized that passenger safety is their top priority. “Our partnership with T-Safe reinforces our commitment to a secure travel experience. We recognize the need for stronger safety measures, especially for women travelers, and are building a safer, more inclusive travel environment.”
Shikha Goel, DGP CID, DGP Women Safety Wing, Director TG Cyber Security Bureau & Director TG FSL – Telangana Police, highlighted the importance of T-Safe. “Our mission is clear: to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. T-Safe is a first-of-its-kind citizen-initiated police monitoring ride service that aims to improve safety during commutes.”
This partnership marks a significant step towards leveraging technology to make every journey worry-free.
