Indian Overseas Bank Marks Independence Day with Flag Hoisting, CSR Support and NRI Service Launch

Chennai: Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) observed Independence Day at its Central Office in Chennai with a parade and the hoisting of the National Flag by Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO, at 8:00 AM, followed by the National Anthem.

Srivastava also administered the National Integration Pledge during the event. Executive Directors Joydeep Dutta Roy and Dhanaraj T, Chief Vigilance Officer P. Krishnan and senior executives participated in the celebrations. IOB employees also took part in the programme.

CSR support for students

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, IOB extended financial support to the National Institute of Value Education (NIVE) Trust for the procurement of a school bus for economically disadvantaged students.

Srivastava said the support was intended to improve transportation access for students and contribute to a safer and more supportive learning environment.

Centralised NRI Back Office launched

During the Independence Day programme, IOB also launched its Centralized NRI Back Office, aimed at bringing key NRI-related operational activities under a centralised framework.

The initiative is intended to streamline services for the bank’s Non-Resident Indian (NRI) customers across the globe and improve turnaround times.

The Centralized NRI Back Office was formally inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO of IOB.

According to the bank, the initiative is designed to provide faster and more streamlined banking services to its NRI clientele through centralised handling of NRI-related operations.
