Jindal (India) Partners with Dongkuk India for Long-Term Coated Steel Supply to Home Appliance Sector

Mumbai: Jindal (India) Limited has entered into a long-term supply partnership with Dongkuk India to supply coated steel products for India’s expanding home appliance manufacturing industry.

Under the agreement, Jindal (India), a part of the BC Jindal Group, will supply coated steel products to Dongkuk India’s manufacturing facilities. The products covered under the partnership include Pre-Painted Galvanised Iron (PPGI), Galvanised Plain Skin Passed (GPSP), and Alu-Zinc Coated Steel.

According to the company, the collaboration is aimed at addressing the increasing demand for coated steel products driven by the growth of India’s home appliance and consumer durables sector. Rising household incomes, urbanisation, and increasing domestic manufacturing have contributed to higher demand from appliance manufacturers.

A spokesperson for Jindal (India) Limited said the partnership combines the company’s manufacturing capabilities with Dongkuk India’s processing expertise to support a reliable domestic supply chain for appliance manufacturers. The company also stated that the collaboration is expected to strengthen its presence in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) segment.

The coated steel products supplied under the agreement will be distributed through Dongkuk India’s existing supply network to leading domestic and international home appliance manufacturers operating in India.

Jindal (India) Limited stated that the partnership is expected to contribute to its business growth over the coming years while expanding its presence in India’s home appliance manufacturing sector.

The company operates two manufacturing facilities in Howrah, West Bengal, equipped with colour coating and metal coating technologies. Its product portfolio includes sheets, pipes, and aluminium foil. The company markets colour-coated sheet products under brands such as Jindal Sabrang and Jindal NeuColor+.

According to the company, coated flat steel products currently account for around 70% of its total production, making the segment a key focus area for future expansion.

Founded in 1952, Jindal (India) Limited is part of the BC Jindal Group, which operates across packaging films, energy, and steel products. The company said that while a significant share of its revenue has traditionally come from Eastern India, it has expanded its presence across North and West India as part of its pan-India growth strategy, supported by increasing infrastructure and industrial development in these regions.
