Hotel and Resort Searches Rise 22% Across India; Chennai Records 17% Growth: Justdial Report

Chennai: Consumer interest in hotels, resorts and hospitality-related services has witnessed significant growth across India over the past year, according to an analysis released by Justdial. The report compares search trends between June 2025–May 2026 and June 2024–May 2025, highlighting increased travel activity and hiring across the hospitality sector.

According to the analysis, searches for Hotels & Resorts increased by 22% nationwide, reflecting higher demand for accommodation across leisure and business travel segments. The growth has been attributed to increased domestic tourism, summer vacations and seasonal travel during school holidays.

Among major cities, Delhi recorded the highest growth with a 46% increase in hotel and resort searches. Jaipur followed with a 31% rise, while Kolkata recorded 25% growth. Pune and Ahmedabad each witnessed a 19% increase, Chennai registered a 17% rise, and Mumbai recorded an 11% increase.

The report also noted increased interest in employment within the hospitality sector. Searches for Hospitality Jobs & Staffing Services grew by 12% across India, indicating continued recruitment by hotels, resorts and hospitality businesses to meet growing tourist demand.

In this category, Chandigarh led with a 17% increase in searches, followed by Delhi at 15% and Lucknow at 13%. Pune and Indore each recorded 7% growth, while Patna and Ahmedabad registered increases of 5% and 2%, respectively.

The findings indicate sustained momentum in India’s hospitality industry, with rising consumer interest in both accommodation and employment opportunities. The simultaneous growth in hotel searches and hospitality job-related queries reflects expanding domestic tourism and the sector’s continued demand for skilled workforce.
