Nissan Unveils All-New Tekton SUV for India, Inspired by the Iconic Patrol
Chennai: Nissan Motor India has officially revealed the name and design preview of its upcoming premium C-SUV—the All-New Nissan Tekton. Slated for launch in 2026, the Tekton marks the second product under Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy and will be manufactured in partnership with Renault at the Chennai plant for both domestic and select global markets.
The name “Tekton,” derived from the Greek word for “craftsman” or “architect,” reflects Nissan’s commitment to precision engineering and innovation. Positioned as a powerful, premium SUV, the Tekton is designed for individuals who are shaping their world through ambition, lifestyle, and leadership.

Drawing inspiration from Nissan’s legendary Patrol SUV, the Tekton blends bold aesthetics with robust reliability and advanced technology. The front features a sculpted bonnet and signature C-shaped headlamps paired with a strong lower bumper, creating a commanding road presence. The side profile showcases a muscular stance, while the front doors incorporate a ‘Double-C’ accent with a subtle Himalayan mountain motif. At the rear, a red illuminated lightbar spans the width of the vehicle, connecting dynamic C-shaped tail lamps, with the Tekton nameplate prominently displayed on the tailgate.
Alfonso Albaisa, Corporate Executive at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, stated, “The All-New Nissan Tekton draws its design inspiration from our legendary Nissan Patrol. It is designed to disrupt, dominate, and deliver everything today’s modern Indian consumer desires. The design and build quality are distinctly Nissan—embodying the best of our SUV DNA.”
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, added, “The Tekton will be central to Nissan’s resurgence in India. With its bold looks, premium interiors, and commanding stance, we believe it will be a segment disruptor. This model offers a glimpse into the future of our product portfolio and will spearhead our growth story in the country.”
The Tekton is expected to play a pivotal role in Nissan Motor India’s strategy to strengthen its market presence and expand its product offerings. As part of this growth, the company is also accelerating the expansion of its dealership network across India.
