RIDEV Opens 16th Chennai Hub as Electric Two-Wheeler Fleet Crosses 12,000

Chennai: Electric mobility platform RIDEV has opened its 16th hub in Chennai as its fleet crosses 12,000 electric two-wheelers, marking a significant expansion since the company began operations with 10 vehicles in April 2024.

Hemant Kabra, founder and managing director of BGauss, attended the hub inauguration as chief guest. The company also showcased its 12,000th electric two-wheeler to mark the milestone.

RIDEV provides electric two-wheelers on rent to delivery and gig workers, with services including battery swapping, maintenance, roadside assistance, insurance and standby electric vehicles at no additional cost. The model aims to reduce the upfront cost of vehicle ownership and minimise downtime caused by battery access, repairs and servicing.

The company uses in-house technology to manage its fleet, hubs and rider operations.

“ We don’t just provide a vehicle; we provide access to an earning asset,” said Manish Kumar Jain, founder and CEO of RIDEV, highlighting the role of reliable transportation in supporting delivery workers’ livelihoods.

RIDEV said it plans to expand its fleet and hub network across key markets while strengthening its technology and operational infrastructure to meet the needs of India’s delivery and gig workforce.
