Tamil Nadu Gets New CM: Vijay Takes Oath, Chooses Suit for Swearing-in

Chennai: Vijay, founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at a formal ceremony held in the city.

The oath of office was administered by the Acting Governor of Tamil Nadu, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. During the ceremony, Vijay began his oath by stating, “I, C. Joseph Vijay…,” before formally assuming office.

Alongside him, nine other elected members were also sworn in as ministers, marking the formation of the new state cabinet.

Notably, Vijay’s attire drew attention at the event. Departing from the customary white dhoti and shirt typically worn at political ceremonies in Tamil Nadu, he attended the swearing-in dressed in a formal suit, signaling a distinct personal style on the occasion.
