Seattle Gears Up for FIFA World Cup 2026 with Sports and Cultural Attractions
Seattle: Seattle is preparing to host six matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026, positioning itself as a key destination for global football fans while showcasing its vibrant sports culture and tourism offerings.
Matches will be held at Lumen Field during June and July, including group-stage fixtures featuring the United States, Australia, Iran and Egypt. The city will also organise multiple fan celebration events with live screenings, food, and entertainment at venues such as Seattle Center, Pacific Place, Waterfront Park and SoDo, open to the public.
Beyond the World Cup, Seattle is known for its year-round sports culture. Lumen Field serves as the home ground for teams including the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders FC and OL Reign, while T-Mobile Park hosts Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners.
City officials highlight that visitors can explore several iconic attractions between matches. Popular spots include Pike Place Market, the redeveloped Waterfront Park, and the Seattle Center, home to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and the Museum of Pop Culture.
Other attractions include Seattle Aquarium, Smith Tower and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, offering visitors a mix of history, culture and scenic views.
Neighbourhoods such as Pioneer Square and Capitol Hill are also expected to draw visitors with their dining, arts and entertainment options, while venues like Climate Pledge Arena and McCaw Hall will host concerts and performances.
