Aditya Mehta Clinches Third Straight All India Open Snooker Title
Chennai: India No.2 Aditya Mehta (PSPB) continued his dominant run by winning the All India Open Snooker Tournament, organised by Towers Club, for the third consecutive time. In the final, Mehta defeated fellow PSPB cueist S. Shrikrishna 5-2 to successfully defend his title.
The final saw a strong fightback from Shrikrishna, who compiled a 101 break in the second frame. However, Mehta’s consistency and experience proved decisive as he pulled ahead to seal another title—mirroring last year’s result, where he had won 5-0.
The tournament witnessed high-quality snooker, with a total of seven century breaks recorded. The highest break of 135 came from Ranveer Duggal, while Mehta himself registered a 132 break. Other notable century-makers included IH Manudev (113), Pushpender Singh (107), Thaha Irshath (101), Shrikrishna (101), and B.C. Karthik (100).
The tournament featured an attractive prize pool, with the winner receiving ₹2,00,000 and the runner-up ₹1,00,000. Semi-finalists were awarded ₹50,000 each, while quarter-finalists earned ₹25,000 each. Players reaching the pre-quarterfinal stage received ₹10,000, the top 32 finalists were given ₹5,000 each, and qualifiers were awarded ₹2,500 each.
In the results, Aditya Mehta (PSPB) defeated S. Shrikrishna (PSPB) 5-2 in the final. In the semi-finals, Shrikrishna edged past Pushpender Singh (RSPB) in a close 5-4 contest, while Mehta overcame Dhruv Patel (Gujarat) 5-3 to book his place in the title clash.
With this victory, Mehta further cements his position among India’s top snooker players, showcasing remarkable consistency on the national circuit.
