Axis Bank Launches Environmental Awareness Campaign Across South India on World Environment Day
Chennai: Axis Bank has launched a multi-city environmental awareness campaign across South India under its sustainability platform, Open for the Planet, to mark World Environment Day 2026.
The initiative is being conducted across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, bringing together communities, customers, employees, educational institutions, corporate organisations, and partner groups for a range of environmental activities.
According to the bank, the campaign is expected to reach more than 8,000 participants and is aimed at encouraging community involvement in environmental conservation and sustainability efforts.
As part of the programme, several activities are being organised across the region, including tree plantation drives in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Puducherry. Other initiatives include beach and corporate park clean-up campaigns, electric vehicle (EV) display zones, human chain awareness programmes, and recycling partnerships focused on resource efficiency and waste reduction.
Commenting on the initiative, Sanjeev Moghe, Group Head – Branch Banking, South, Axis Bank, said sustainability remains an important aspect of the bank’s long-term approach to growth and value creation. He noted that the campaign seeks to encourage broader community participation in environmental action through accessible and inclusive initiatives.
Axis Bank stated that the Open for the Planet platform is part of its ongoing efforts to promote sustainability through community-driven programmes and partnerships focused on environmental responsibility.
