Birla Global University Begins MBA and MBA in Business Analytics Batch for 2026–28
Mumbai: Birla Global University (BGU) has conducted the Commencement Day Programme for the 2026–28 Master of Business Administration (MBA) batch and the inaugural batch of its MBA in Business Analytics programme.
The university stated that it is the first institution in Eastern India to offer a two-year MBA in Business Analytics programme co-designed and co-delivered with KPMG in India. The programme has been introduced with a focus on experiential learning.
The event was attended by Gaurav Sharma, Senior Vice President at SolarSquare and an alumnus of IIT Bombay and IIM Kozhikode, who was the Chief Guest. Narayanan Ramaswamy, Partner and National Leader – Education & Skill Development at KPMG India, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Also present were Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice-Chancellor of Birla Global University; Prof. P. Nayak, Dean of Birla School of Management; Tanmay Kumar Pattanayak, Registrar of BGU; along with faculty members, staff, alumni and students.
Addressing the students, Gaurav Sharma encouraged them to view challenges as opportunities for growth and emphasised the importance of continuous learning and problem-solving.
Narayanan Ramaswamy highlighted the value of practical learning, urging students to combine classroom knowledge with real-world experiences, embrace technology, remain curious and pursue meaningful careers.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni said the growth of an institution depends on the collective contributions of its students, alumni, faculty and stakeholders, adding that the university’s progress is closely linked to the achievements of its students.
Dean Prof. P. Nayak advised the new batch to remain focused on learning and maintain the right abilities, attitude and actions throughout their academic journey, assuring them of the university’s support.
The commencement programme marked the beginning of the academic journey for students enrolled in both the MBA and the newly introduced MBA in Business Analytics programmes for the 2026–28 academic session.
