South India’s Broadcast, Cinema and OTT Industry to Converge at BMCE 2026 in Chennai

Chennai: The Broadcast Media Cinema Expo (BMCE) 2026 will be held from July 17 to 19, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre, bringing together stakeholders from the broadcast, cinema, OTT, content creation, production and post-production sectors.

Formerly known as Cinema Today, BMCE has evolved into a dedicated trade exhibition and conference for South India’s media and entertainment industry. The event will be held alongside Image Today Asia, a trade exhibition focused on photography, videography and digital imaging. Entering its 26th consecutive year, Image Today Asia continues to serve professionals from photography, videography, studio equipment and content creation industries.

Chennai’s Role in the Media Industry

South India is home to three of India’s four largest film industries, around 4,600 cinema screens, and more than 180 television channels, making it one of the country’s major media and entertainment centres.

BMCE aims to provide a regional platform where broadcasters, filmmakers, production houses, technology providers, OTT platforms and content creators can interact, explore new technologies and develop business collaborations.

Event Highlights

According to the organisers, BMCE 2026 will feature:

  • More than 60 exhibitors
  • An expected 3,000 to 5,000 trade visitors
  • A three-day exhibition and conference
  • Live technology demonstrations
  • Networking sessions for industry professionals
  • Displays of the latest broadcast, cinema, OTT, content creation and media technologies

Inauguration

The exhibition will be inaugurated by L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, who will deliver the inaugural address.

Exhibitors

BMCE 2026 will feature more than 60 exhibitors, including companies such as Benchmark Broadcast, Canon, Disk Archive, Evertz, Grass Valley, Horizon Broadcast, Monolith, Nanlite and RED Digital Cinema.

The co-located Image Today Asia exhibition will host over 150 exhibitors, including Sony, Fujifilm, Nikon, Tamron, Sigma, Godox, SmallRig, Lexar and SanDisk, among others.

Image Today Asia Highlights

The exhibition will also feature several activities for photography and videography professionals, including:

  • Felicitation of more than 60 industry veterans by the Tamil Nadu Photo & Videographers Association
  • Free camera and lens service camps conducted by leading brands
  • Hands-on experience with the latest photography and videography equipment
  • Workshops, live demonstrations and fashion shows across all three days

Industry Gathering

BMCE 2026 is expected to bring together broadcasters, production houses, OTT platforms, filmmakers, cinematographers, rental companies, content creators and technology providers under one roof. The event will offer visitors opportunities to learn about emerging technologies, attend expert-led conference sessions and interact with professionals from across the media and entertainment industry.
