Hamsa Rehab Hosts Physiotherapy Excellence Awards and CME Programme in Chennai
Chennai: Hamsa Rehab conducted the Physiotherapy Excellence Awards 2026 and Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme at Raj Park Hotel, Teynampet, Chennai, bringing together more than 150 physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals.
Held under the theme “One Profession, Many Voices, Countless Achievements,” the programme combined professional recognition with discussions on developments in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Physiotherapy Excellence Awards 2026
The Physiotherapy Excellence Awards 2026 recognised contributions across six categories.
Young Achiever Award: Aravinda Suresh and Subbaiah
Clinical Excellence Award: Dr. Arivoli, Dr. K. Y. Kiran, Dr. Prakash and Dr. Divya Karthick
Research & Innovation Award: Dr. Thiyagarajan and Dr. Balamurugan JanakiRaman
Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. S. S. Subramanian
Academic Excellence Award: Dr. Arunachalam and Dr. Mahesh P. G.
Community Service Award: Dr. Solu, Dr. Navamani and Dr. Ramasubramanian
The awards covered areas including clinical practice, research, education, innovation, community service and contributions to physiotherapy.
CME Focuses on Technology and Rehabilitation
The CME programme included discussions on artificial intelligence and technology, neurorehabilitation, rehabilitation-centre practice, patient adherence and outcome measurement.
One of the key sessions was the panel discussion “Can AI & Technology Replace the Physiotherapist?”, moderated by Dr. G. Balamurali. The discussion examined how emerging technologies could complement clinical expertise in patient-centred rehabilitation.
Dr. G. Balamurali, Founder and Managing Director of Hamsa Rehab, said technology can support assessment, treatment and rehabilitation outcomes, while clinical judgement, empathy and human interaction remain important aspects of patient care.
He also said Hamsa Rehab is developing a robotic and AI-powered rehabilitation centre in Chennai, which is expected to become operational before the end of 2026.
Hamsa Rehab’s Rehabilitation Services
Hamsa Rehab operates with 120 beds across two cities and five centres in Chennai and Vellore. Its multidisciplinary rehabilitation services cover neurological, spinal, orthopaedic and other rehabilitation needs.
The organisation’s multidisciplinary team includes rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and swallowing therapists, psychologists, dietitians and nursing professionals.
The programme concluded with dinner and networking, bringing together members of the physiotherapy and rehabilitation community for professional interaction and exchange of experiences.
