Bajaj Auto Unveils New Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125 on Brand’s 25th Anniversary
Chennai: Bajaj Auto Ltd. has unveiled the new Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125 as part of the Pulsar brand’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The two motorcycles receive updates to their engines, gearbox, chassis, suspension, instrumentation and connected features while retaining the core design and characteristics associated with the Pulsar range.
The new Pulsar 150 is priced at an introductory ₹1,15,233, while the Pulsar 125 starts at ₹92,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Pulsar brand was launched in 2001 and has sold more than 20 million motorcycles across over 40 countries, according to Bajaj Auto. The company said the new models continue the characteristics associated with the Pulsar 150, including its muscular tank design, road presence and acceleration, while introducing updated engineering and technology.
New engine and gearbox
The new Pulsar 150 gets a 149.5cc engine producing 14 PS at 8,500 rpm and 13.7 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
The Pulsar 125 features a 124.58cc engine producing 12 PS at 8,000 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Bajaj Auto describes it as the most powerful 125cc motorcycle in the market.
Both motorcycles feature new gearboxes designed to provide improved tractive effort in lower gears. The company said the improved power-to-weight ratio enables quicker 0–60 km/h acceleration.
The engines also use PVD piston rings, which are intended to reduce friction, improve engine life and lower noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).
New frame and monoshock suspension
Both models feature a new diamond-type frame designed with greater stiffness to improve handling. The engine also acts as a stiffness member, supporting overall ride and stability.
The motorcycles receive a nitrogen gas-charged emulsion-type monoshock suspension system, aimed at improving straight-line stability and handling during cornering.
5-inch TFT console and navigation
A new 5-inch TFT console has been introduced with Google Maps mirroring and navigation functionality.
The console can also store vehicle documents such as the registration certificate and insurance details. It provides live call and message alerts along with music controls through connected technology.
Ride modes and Crawl Tech
The new Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125 come with three ride modes — Road, Rain and Sport.
The motorcycles also feature Crawl Tech, designed to provide greater control and convenience during low-speed riding and traffic conditions.
LED headlamp and start-stop technology
The motorcycles feature a redesigned Wolf-Eye LED headlamp with larger optics. Bajaj Auto said the top variant of the Pulsar 150 offers improved throw, spread and intensity.
An Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) is available on the top three variants of both the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125. The automatic start-stop function is intended to improve fuel economy and reduce mechanical complexity.
Sarang Kanade, Chief Business Officer, Two-wheeler Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said the company had retained the characteristics associated with the Pulsar brand while updating the motorcycles with new engineering and technology for current riders.
The new Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125 will be available at introductory prices of ₹1,15,233 and ₹92,900 respectively, with the latter prices specified as ex-showroom Delhi.
