NSDC and WRI India Join Forces to Strengthen Green Skilling Ecosystem in India

Mumbai: In a significant move to boost India’s transition to a green economy, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and WRI India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the green skilling ecosystem in India.

The partnership aims to map green skill gaps, implement reskilling and upskilling programs, and promote sustainable development by equipping individuals and businesses with market-relevant skills for green jobs. The initiative will focus on boosting green skills in manufacturing, service, and agriculture sectors, with a special emphasis on supporting Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

  • Bridging the Green Skill Gap: NSDC and WRI India will design training programs that match global opportunities, creating new avenues for Indian workers in international markets.
  • Promoting Sustainable Development: The partnership will equip individuals and businesses with market-relevant skills for green jobs, supporting local economies and creating new livelihood opportunities.
  • Empowering MSMEs: The initiative will focus on supporting MSMEs in transitioning to a low-carbon future, fostering industry-aligned reskilling and upskilling initiatives.
