Tiffin Service Searches Rise 55% in India as Consumers Seek Value-Focused Food Options: Justdial

New Delhi: Searches for tiffin services, budget supermarkets and grocery wholesalers increased across India between July 2025 and June 2026, indicating growing consumer interest in affordable meal and grocery options, according to data from Justdial.

The analysis compared search volumes from July 2025–June 2026 with the corresponding period from July 2024–June 2025. The trends show increased searches across categories related to everyday food and grocery requirements.

Justdial noted that search trends do not establish a direct link with food price movements, but the increase across these categories suggests consumers are exploring different options to manage everyday food-related expenses.

Tiffin Service Searches Increase 55%

Searches for Tiffin Services increased by 55% pan-India during the period under review.

Ranchi recorded the highest growth at 106%, followed by Jaipur at 90%, Patna at 74% and Bhopal at 72%. Searches increased by 62% in Indore, while Delhi and Lucknow recorded growth of 57% and 56%, respectively.

Mumbai registered a 38% increase in searches for tiffin services.

Budget Supermarket Searches Rise 32%

Searches for Budget Supermarket Services increased by 32% nationally.

Among the cities covered, Surat recorded the highest increase at 59%, followed by Kolkata at 55% and Bangalore at 42%.

Delhi and Mumbai each recorded a 31% increase, while searches rose by 28% in Pune, 25% in Jaipur and 22% in Lucknow.

Grocery Wholesaler Searches Grow 30%

Searches for Grocery Wholesalers increased by 30% across India.

Kolkata recorded the highest growth at 77%, followed by Delhi at 32% and Pune at 28%. Ahmedabad and Jaipur each registered a 25% increase, while Mumbai and Bangalore recorded growth of 24% and 21%, respectively.

Consumers Explore More Food and Grocery Options

The search trends indicate a wider shift in consumer behaviour, with users exploring different formats for meeting everyday food and grocery needs.

The increase in searches for tiffin services points to greater interest in ready-to-eat meal options, while the rise in searches for budget supermarkets and grocery wholesalers suggests consumers are also looking at alternative retail and sourcing formats.

According to Justdial, these trends reflect increased interest in convenience, choice and value as household spending remains a key consideration.
