Titan Revives SIPCOT Hosur Lake, Boosts Water Capacity Threefold

Hosur: Titan Company Limited, under its Pragati sustainability initiative, has rejuvenated the SIPCOT Hosur Lake in partnership with Hosur Municipal Corporation and SIPCOT. This marks Titan’s third major water security project in Tamil Nadu this year.

The 10.5-acre lake, vital to Hosur’s hydrological network, now holds 17.1 crore litres—tripled from its original capacity. The lake was deepened from 1.5 to 8 metres, with bund strengthening, stone pitching, and inlet clearing to improve water quality and stormwater management.

Community features include a 950-metre walking track, a 40,000 sq. ft. Miyawaki forest island, and over 4,300 saplings planted to enhance biodiversity. Safety and accessibility were improved with fencing, lighting, and social spaces.

Titan MD C.K. Venkataraman formally handed over the project to Hosur’s Mayor S.A. Sathya and Commissioner Md. Shabbir Alam, IAS, calling it a model of industry-government collaboration for sustainable urban development.
