Wonderla Chennai Unveils Skywheel: A New Must-Visit Experience for Fun & Family Outings
Chennai: Wonderla Chennai has added a major new attraction for visitors looking for entertainment, leisure, and weekend getaways—the newly launched ‘Skywheel’, a giant observation ride paired with an elevated dining experience called the ‘Sky View Diner’.
Designed as a blend of thrill, comfort, and scenic views, the new addition is quickly shaping up to be one of the highlight experiences inside the amusement park.
A Giant Wheel with a View from the Top
Standing at around 80 metres tall, the Skywheel offers a slow and smooth ride experience, making it suitable for families, children, and older visitors alike. The ride features 16 fully air-conditioned cabins, each accommodating up to six people.
As the wheel rotates gently at less than one revolution per minute, visitors can enjoy wide, uninterrupted views of the entire park and surrounding landscape. Each ride cycle lasts a few minutes, giving guests enough time to relax and take in the scenery from above.
The attraction is designed to be both visually striking and comfortable, with illuminated lighting that turns it into a glowing landmark during the evening.
Sky View Diner: Dining Above the Park Experience
Adding to the experience is the Sky View Diner, located directly beneath the giant wheel structure. The restaurant offers a relaxed, air-conditioned space with a multi-cuisine buffet priced at ₹699 per person.
With seating for around 200 guests per day, the diner is designed for both park visitors and those simply looking for a unique dining experience. Its elevated setting offers scenic views of the amusement park, making it especially popular during sunset hours.

Wonderla says the Skywheel has been created as a signature attraction to enhance visitor experience and encourage guests to spend more time enjoying the park.
Built over nearly two years, the ride combines international cabin design with in-house engineering. Safety systems, controlled ride speed, and trained operational teams have been included to ensure a smooth experience for all visitors.
