Arun Icecreams Sets Guinness World Record With 4,008 Children in Chennai

Chennai: Arun Icecreams has entered the Guinness World Records by bringing together 4,008 children in Chennai to create the Longest Chain of People Licking Ice Cream, marking a new global record.

The record-setting event saw children forming a continuous human chain while consuming Arun Icecreams’ butterscotch and chocolate-flavoured Jolly Train ice creams, made with real milk and cream. Participants held hands and passed ice cream to the person on their right, maintaining a coordinated chain while consuming ice cream continuously for one minute, as per Guinness guidelines.

Commenting on the achievement, R. G. Chandramogan, Chairman, Hatsun Agro Product Ltd, said the moment was especially meaningful as it brought together thousands of children to celebrate the simple joy of ice cream, while reinforcing the company’s long-standing commitment to quality.

The previous Guinness World Record for the category was set in Canada 15 years ago with around 2,500 students, making Arun Icecreams’ feat a significant milestone on the global stage.

The record was officially verified by Richard William Stenning of the UK Guinness World Records team and Milind Verlekar from the Pune Guinness team. The Guinness World Records certificate was presented to C. Sathyan, Vice Chairman, Hatsun Agro Product Ltd, in the presence of representatives from participating schools.

Schools that took part in the record-setting event included Narayana Group of Schools, Nellai Nadar School, Ramachandra School, Suda Nanda Vidyalaya, Budding Minds, SV School, Vels Global School, and Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School.

The achievement further reinforces Arun Icecreams’ position as one of India’s leading ice cream brands, supported by a strong retail network and a diverse product portfolio catering to consumers across the country.
