Shree Jain Medical Relief Society Celebrates 75 Years of Healthcare Service in Chennai
Chennai: Shree Jain Medical Relief Society celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in Chennai on Saturday, marking 75 years of providing healthcare services to the community.
Dr. T.S. Surendran, Chairman of Sankara Nethralaya, attended the celebration as chief guest. The event brought together the Society’s leadership, donors and supporters, with a musical performance by Young Indian Idol Avirbhav and his team.
Established in 1950, the Society provides healthcare services in maternity and childcare, ophthalmology, dentistry, physiotherapy, dialysis, nephrology, diabetes and thyroid care, along with diagnostic facilities.
Its healthcare institutions include Devraj Manickchand Maternity Hospital, Bhagwan Mahaveer Eye Hospital, Jain Clinic – Rathnabai, Jain Dispensary, Dheeraj Bafna Jain Physiotherapy Centre, Khivraj Chordia Memorial Dialysis Centre, Javanthmull Chordia Diagnostic Centre and Dispensary, Kewalchand Mohanabai Daga Dialysis Centre and Suwadevi Jhumarmal Nahar Diabetes Centre.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Surendran highlighted the role of community-driven healthcare institutions in providing medical services across generations.
Ashok Kumar Mehta, President of Shree Jain Medical Relief Society, said the organisation’s 75-year journey reflected the collective contributions of individuals committed to community healthcare.
Rajkumar Dugar, General Secretary, said the Society had expanded its medical facilities over the decades to address changing healthcare needs while continuing its commitment to medical relief.
Event Chairman Sripal Kothari acknowledged the contributions of donors and well-wishers who had supported the Society’s activities over the years.
The celebration also included the felicitation of donors in recognition of their contributions to the Society’s healthcare initiatives.
